Urban Spacemag: Only Copy & Paste?

At the end of February, the second edition of the subcultural and urban Urban.Spacemag magazine was released, including info about Japanese tape artist Shuetsu Sato, Australian tape artist BUFFdiss, and other articles corresponding to the magazines topic “Gaffa-Urbanism”.

Now the third edition is in work and the crew behind the Spacemag calls for your contributions! This times topic is “Copy & Paste”. They are searching for statements and articles from the creative fields of architecture, urban planning and arts…

“This call is seeking for all types of contribution to a magazine that describe and (newly) define the term copy & paste.

More than ever we are forced to produce the brand new and unprecedented. Thereby copying has a negative connotation and is often understood to be the contrary of creativity. But copy & paste practices widely influence the city and our everyday culture, while our Western cultural understanding objects to it.

Selected entries will be published as independent articles or as part of a joint-contribution in the third issue of the magazine Urban.Spacemag.”
(press release)

Do you know, that they used one of my tape art photos for the second Spacemag issue?! For more info, visit spacedepartment.de.

By the way, what’s your opinion about copying artworks by other artists? Still art, thievery or something totally different?
