Graffiti Fine-Art: Futura 2000

Beyond doubt, Futura 2000 ranks among my favorite graffiti-artists. His old style made him famous – his new style is clear and modern.

Born in 1955, Futura started to paint illegally on New York’s subway in the early seventies. He earned a lot of fame and exhibited together with other popular artists like Keith Haring in the eighties.

Some month ago, he exhibited here in Berlin and gave some nice interviews.
The show, which was called “Odyssey Two”, presented his new artworks which were abstract, but really great – I love that edged style!

Now I found a nice video by 13thWitness, who visited the so called “Futura Laboratories” and filmed Futura 2000 at work. It’s absolutely interesting to see how that crazy-styled artworks come up. This is graffiti fine-art – Take a look…
