Graffiti Documentary: Graffiti is Freedom?

Before I will write something about that interesting graffiti documentary called “Getting Up”, I would like congratulate the team of F.C. Internazionale Milano for their great football match and for that nice result. Thumbs up, guys!

Getting Up (Yeah, I know its from 2008, but it’s still in fashion!) is not that standard graffiti documentary which only describes the history of the worldwide graffiti movement, but it makes several famous writers and major players from the United States like Daze, Cope2, Ket, Futura and Noxer come to word – They more or less discuss their fight for fame.

It is a well edited film that speaks for itself. Getting Up: A Graffiti Documentary is a solid 30 minutes of schooling about the life, freedom, adventure, and resourcefulness of a pure Graff Writer. Check it out right now. You will not be sorry. (oldschoolscholar.com)

A word that I heard a lot while watching that graffiti documentary was freedom and I asked myself, whether graffiti is really freedom and what it means? What do you think is graffiti? Why are so many people around the globe fascinated by spray-painting walls?

  1. Us humans were born into a world of rules. We were never given a chance to be completely free. When I write graffiti it’s like saying fuck your rules, I’m free.
