Live Stencil Art: Ben Howe in Hamburg

Today is the Down-Under day. Some hours ago I wrote that article about the Australian graffiti artist The Yok and now I will write a small post about the upcoming stencil art show by Ben Howe in Hamburg. Yes, you are right, Ben Howe is also an Australian urban artist…

The upcoming show is called “Schism Overwrite” and will present his most current stencil artworks and I heard, that he will make some live action – maybe a live painting!

“The bulk of his work circles issues of representation, structure and consciousness.  Coming from a background of hyper realist painting, Howe often produces the initial subjects in sculptural form, and uses them as the basis for his artworks.

The finished pieces possess a severe beauty, and are at once psychological, provocative and absorbing.
Other works have more political leanings and initiate dialogues concerning gentrification, aesthetic beauty and mass movements.” (about Ben Howe)

Pity that I can not be there. I hope that somebody will publish some niche shot from the opening, which will be this Saturday at the Assoonas Gallery.
