The famous street & urban art exhibition series “Backjumps” is back! In its fourth version, the “Backjumps” will present seven selected, Berlin-based artists from November 7th to November 29th.
“Backjumps Version 4 #1” is the prelude to twice-yearly “laboratories” and researches of current strategies and forms of urban art and aerosol culture expressions.
Participating artists are Pigenius Cave, Brad Downey, RZM (Ritsche Koch/Zasd/Christian Marien), Matthias Wermke and Mischa Leinkauf:
Pigenius Cave explores with a homemade “Tricycle” the canals and underground access ways of the city. He documented findings, lost treasures and places of this underworld.
US-born and Berlin-based artist Brad Downey will present three new artworks, which demonstrate his sculptural as well as his performative dealing with the city. On show will be a documentation of his Lacoste-Action in 2008, for example.
RZM deals with the world of sound, architecture and texture of Berlin locations. Through playful investigations of urban spaces, they produce and develope tactile, visual and acoustic raw materials.
Matthias Wermke & Misha Leinkauf will show a 3-channel video installation, in which they move through the stillness and vastness of the Berlin underground and suburban rail network.
“Backjumps Version 4 #1” will take place at the Project Room 1 of the Kunstraum Kreuzberg / Bethanien, Mariannenplatz 2, 10997 Berlin.
I’ll keep you up to date!
